Adversity - And Turning it Around

Ever had the feeling that life is just not fair? A good friend of mine always shakes his fist at the heavens demanding that life be unfair in HIS favor. Contrary to where you all may think this is going, this week has nothing to do with the hip.

I'll spare the techno-babble and simply say that my computer is broken, and will take at least a week to repair. It's not something I'm looking forward to, but I'm going to have to get around to it sooner or later. Luckily, it wasn't my fault (entirely). I decided to make good use out of my cell phone, and politely ask for refunds and replacement parts seeing as how there were hardware failures in areas that I hadn't even touched. In the last week, I've managed to get 150$ out of a processor, 50$ from broken crutches (another story obviously), a new motherboard (250$), and new ram (80$). Not too shabby if you ask me.

All this just from being nice (and occasionally patronizing) to the other guy on the phone. All this has suddenly turned what was quickly becoming a catastrophic week into a mildly annoying week. Top this off with getting lots of errands done, writing to a good friend of mine in France, and reading a good book, and this week isn't so bad at all now.

I should also mention that my social life is slowly on the rebound after the surgery. A lot of people moved out, so now I'm going to have to make new friends again. If I don't, I may end up being so bored as to do something like this.....
